Mid-Life Doesn’t Have to be a Crisis

What does the Bible Say?

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

We all grow old, there is no way to avoid this. This means we may not have the energy and vibrancy you once had. You have to worry more about your health and notice your mid section may be a little wider than it once was. If you have kids you see them growing and getting ready to launch into adulthood themselves. These changes in life sometimes contribute people to quit their jobs, cheat on their spouses, or engage in other destructive behavior to numb the pain these changes may be causing. But it’s important to remember that God has not gone anywhere. He is the same as he was in our youth. Like the passage above says, He has a plan for us and has never stopped loving you. Pray to God for guidance, and be looking for how He continues to work in your life.
